My Story of Successful Explantation Surgery

by Rose

I do not have an agenda to promote. My purpose in creating this site is simply to encourage other women that could benefit from explantation and are too fearful to have surgery. I will touch on, but not elaborate on, my medical problems. The ruptured implants that caused the silicone migration were Dow Corning from 1985. I believe, as do my doctors, that I had an extreme sensitivity to silicone.

No matter what we do in life, there will always be cause and effect. There are risks. The risks of breast implants has been debated for years. In our quest to comply with an idealistic image that society and the media have portrayed, hundreds of thousands of women every year turn to plastic surgery. Like Goldilocks, we are searching for the breasts that are "just right". Not too small, not too big, not too saggy, but "just right". Body image, self esteem, and femininity are often equated with cup size. As they say in the army, "this ain't the hill I want to die on!". Quite frankly, I decided a cup size is just not worth haulin' these babies around any longer! At 52, it is time. I was tired of having a size 10 top and size 5 bottom. I am now proportionate for my size.

Every woman with implants will be faced with the decision to replace or explant at some point in time. Many live in fear of further surgery. I am here to tell you, do not let fear paralyze your life! There are a lot of aging implants out there that probably need attention! How ironic that my domain name is the word I feared almost more than anything, "explantation". Let me tell you my brief history.
